Grants

For a Dream's Sake is partnering with the QEII Health Sciences Centre to help provide small grants to clients. These grants will be coordinated by the QEII's Social Work Department through funding from a For a Dream's Sake Endowment Fund.

In addition to these grants, the Board of Directors of For a Dream's Sake will make at least two awards of up to $1,500 per year.

Dreams and Wishes

In our vision, dreams can be as small as a computer to keep in touch with friends and family, a trip to the spa for a pedicure or a flower garden to relax in. Dreams can also be as big as a plane ticket to visit family or a relaxing weekend away.
This winter we provide two grants. One helped a woman travel south with friends to enjoy the sunshine. The other assisted a woman in providing her children and grandchildren a Christmas with her that would always be remembered.
Other grants we've made since our launch have included helping a woman with bills for long-distance phone calls so that she could speak to family and arranging for her and her family to spend a weekend away together before she passed away.
For a Dream's Sake also helped a single mother and her two children spend a week together at a cottage - a chance to relax and be 'normal' together.
