For a Dream's Sake's mission is to improve the quality of life for single, divorced or widowed women living with terminal cancer. Through grants for small dreams or wishes, it is our hope that we will be able to help ease the tremendous burden of dealing with terminal cancer.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, For a Dream's Sake has already been able to help women in the end stages of cancer spend quality time with their families and friends. And, with the recently established endowment fund and continued support of donors, For a Dream's Sake will continue to touch the lives of women with terminal cancer for many years to come.

Facts & Figures

Last year, more than 81,000 Canadian women were diagnosed with cancer and more than 35,000 women died.
Based on current incidence rates, 40% of Canadian women will develop cancer during their lifetimes.

Cancer is the leading cause of premature death in Canada.
Although the medical needs of women vary depending on many factors, all women with advanced cancer benefit from maintaining or improving their quality of life.

Remaining active, spending time with family and friends and maintaining control of one's life are key to living with advanced terminal cancer.
